The City of Menlo Park invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bid proposals for the Santa Cruz Avenue Sidewalk Project.
The work to be done consists, in general, of installing new sidewalks on both sides of Santa Cruz Avenue from Johnson Street to Olive Avenue and constructing a storm drainage system along the northwesterly side of Santa Cruz Avenue. The work consists of a base bid to remove existing valley gutter and asphalt sections and constructing new curb and gutters, sidewalks, curb ramps, manhole and utility structure cover adjustments; installation of new drainage system and modification of drainage pipe and structures; replacement of pavement striping and marking; and other incidentals as necessary to complete the work as shown on the Plans and as specified in the Special Provisions. A bid alternate is also included to install an empty conduit and pull boxes.

A valid Class A license is required for this project. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed according to Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professional Code. Specialized services shall be performed by contractors licensed in the appropriate classifications. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed or be awarded a contract on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Project documents and copies of the prevailing rate of wages can be obtained from the Menlo Park Engineering Division, located in the Administrative Building at 701 Laurel St.

An optional pre-bid conference meeting will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 in City Council Chambers - 701 Laurel St, Menlo Park, CA for interested bidders.
