City Hall Renovation Project
Menlo Park Public Works Bids
The City of Menlo Park invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bid proposals for the CITY HALL RENOVATION PROJECT.
Work under this Contract is to be completed in Six (6) Phases during One Hundred Fifty (150) working days with two to four weeks in between each phase for work by others. The scope of work consists of:
Removing and demolishing interior walls, casework, cabinets, interior windows, sinks, counters and ceiling casements;
Protecting, cleaning, storing doors, casework and other items for re-use in later phases of the work;
installing new interior walls, storefront frames and glazing;
Installing, upgrading and reconfiguring electrical conduit, HVAC equipment, lighting, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems in remodeled offices and conference rooms to serve new room configurations;
Patching, spackling and repainting of walls and ceilings damaged as a result of cubicle furniture demolition removal, other demolition or other causes beyond the scope of work;
Installing electrical “in-carpet raceway” conduit management system;
Other incidentals as necessary to complete the work as shown on the Plans and as specified in the Special Provisions
Other work, not in contract, to be done by others includes:
Removing, protecting and storing employee desks, chairs, tables, boxes, filing cabinets, plan racks and other equipment to be re-used,
Removing, storing, then re-installing and connecting computer equipment.
Removing and disposing of existing cubicle walls and modular desks,
Delivery and installation of new carpet and rubber base,
Delivery, assembly and placement of new furniture, including desks, filing cabinets and tables,
Moving in employee desks, chairs, tables, boxes, filing cabinets, plan racks and other equipment.
A separate schedule is available showing work by all contractors, including General Contractor, City Information Technology Staff, Movers, Cubicle Demolition & Removal Contractor, Carpet Installer and Furniture Supplier.

A valid CLASSIFICATION “B” license is required for this Project. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed according to Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professional Code. Specialized services shall be performed by contractors licensed in the appropriate classifications. Contractor shall be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5
An optional pre-bid conference meeting will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 9th, 2016 in City Hall- 701 Laurel St, Menlo Park, CA for interested bidders.
Due Date for follow-up questions and substitutions to Virginia Parks by: Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 am.
