The City of Menlo Park invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bid proposals for the MENLO PARK VARIOUS STREETS BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS. The work to be done consists of mobilization and traffic control, installation of a five-foot wide asphalt pathway, installation of contractor-furnished solar powered Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon (RRFB) system including push button controllers with LED signs at Elder Avenue and Emilie Avenue on Valparaiso Avenue; installation of thermoplastic crosswalk yield lines; installation of new traffic signage; removal of existing PCC features; installation of PCC ADA curb ramps; installation of textured pavement; installation of contractor-furnished speed feedback system and signage; installation of contractor-furnished accessible pedestrian signal systems at six intersections on El Camino Real; and other incidentals as necessary to complete the work as shown on the Plans and as specified in the Special Provisions.

A Class “A” Contractor’s License is required for this work. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed according to Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professional Code. Specialized services shall be performed by contractors licensed in the appropriate classifications. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed or be awarded a contract on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5.

A mandatory pre-bid conference meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23rd, 2016 in City Hall for interested bidders.
