The City of Menlo Park invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bid proposals for the Menlo Park Various Streets Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements Project. The work to be
done consists of mobilization and traffic control, installation of a five-foot
wide asphalt pathway, installing contractor-furnished solar powered in-pavement
warning light safety system including push button controllers with LED signs at
Elder Avenue and Valparaiso Avenue and at Emilie and Valparaiso Avenue;
installing new traffic signage; removal of existing PCC features; installation
of a PCC ADA curb ramps; installing thermoplastic crosswalk yield lines;
installing textured pavement; installation of speed feedback signage,
installation of accessible pedestrian signal systems at El Camino Real
intersections with Cambridge Avenue, Middle Avenue, Roble Avenue, Menlo Avenue,
Oak Grove Avenue, and Valparaiso Avenue; installing preformed colorized
thermoplastic striping systems on Valparaiso Avenue, Glenwood Avenue, and
Middlefield Road, and other incidentals as necessary to complete the work as
shown on the Plans and as specified in the Special Provisions.

A valid Class “A” or a combination of Class “C-10” & “C-12” license is required for this Project. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed according to Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professional Code, which are currently active and in good standing. Specialized services shall be performed by contractors licensed in the appropriate classifications. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed or be awarded a contract on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5.
