Community Development Update

The proposed Willow Village master plan project (located at 1350-1390 Willow Road, 925-1098 Hamilton Ave. and 1005-1275 Hamilton Court) is currently under review and the City is in the process of preparing an environmental impact report (EIR).

One of the first steps of the EIR process was issuance of the notice of preparation (NOP) to receive public comments on the scope of the EIR. The public comment period for the scope and content of the EIR closed October 18, 2019. The City received 23 comments from members of the public and various agencies and organizations, in addition to the comments provided at the October 7, 2019, Planning Commission scoping session. As part of its authorization of the project’s environmental analysis contract, the City Council requested that the draft scope of the EIR be provided to the City Council following the close of the NOP comment period to allow the City Council to review and provide additional input on the scope before the EIR is prepared.

The City Council will be conducting a special meeting, Monday, December 16, 2019, to receive an overview of the comments and provide comments and/or changes, if any, on the EIR scope. No additional comments on the EIR scope will be taken as the formal comment period has closed.
