Crossing guards needed for Menlo Park elementary schools

Menlo Park is recruiting for 16 crossing guards to help students who walk and bike across busy streets/intersections to get to school. The Safe Routes to School program team worked over the summer to develop a citywide crossing guard program serving the three elementary school districts. Pop-up bike lane coming Oct. 2 to Chilco Street

Enjoy a preview of the upcoming bike lane extension that will help make biking in the Belle Haven community safer and more enjoyable. As part of the Safe Routes to School program, the City plans to install a temporary bike lane on Chilco Street, between Hamilton Avenue and the railroad tracks. For three days, the temporary bike lane will provide a vision the new street design. City staff expects to install the permanent bike lane by the end of the year. City announces Willow Road/U.S. 101 interchange landscaping meeting

Join us Thursday, September 26, 2019, to see concept ideas for new landscaping at the Willow Road/U.S. 101 interchange. A landscape architect will present potential ideas, receive community feedback and go over next steps. The City of Menlo Park is a sponsor of the Caltrans project that updated the interchange by converting the previous “full cloverleaf” style interchange to a “partial cloverleaf” to remove the short merge weaves on both Willow Road and the freeway.
