New recruits set to begin the police academy

Menlo Park welcomes new police recruits Michael Sammut, Brandon Pena and Vaneesh Kumar. The three will attend the Basic Police Academy at the College of San Mateo campus for the next six months. The Basic Police Academy is offered by the South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium, also known as The Academy. August is National Water Quality Month, which means it’s the perfect time to educate ourselves on where our water comes from and how we can preserve it. Educating ourselves is the best way to ensure that our water continues to be high quality and free of contamination. Each year the City-run water provider, Menlo Park Municipal Water, produces an annual consumer confidence report on water quality conditions for the previous calendar year. On Saturday, August 24, 2019, Menlo Park’s 4th Annual Paws for Paws will be held at Burgess Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your furry four-legged friends and family members and enjoy a day filled with activities and raffles. Attendees are invited to browse local pet vendors while their four-legged friends are spoiled with samples of dog treats.
