Bay Trail closing temporarily for bridge construction preparations

The Bay Trail will close overnight between Willow Road and Chilco Street starting Wednesday, April 3, at 9 p.m. and reopen Thursday, April 4, at 6 a.m. The closure is necessary to complete work that will realign the Bay Trail around the future bayfront bicycle/pedestrian bridge. This will allow the Bay Trail to remain open for the duration of the bayfront bridge construction. Signage is already in place and barricades will also be installed. The bicycle/pedestrian bridge across Bayfront Expressway is being constructed by Facebook as a requirement from the City of Menlo Park. Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan efforts continue; next meeting is April 4

The City of Menlo Park is updating its Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan. The plan serves as a road map to guide future decisions about our local parks, open space and recreation system for the next 20 years. Menlo Park observes annual work zone awareness week

April 8-12, 2019, is National Work Zone Awareness Week, an annual spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through work zones on and next to public streets. The Federal Highway Administration, the American Traffic Safety Services Association and state and local agencies have partnered to sponsor National Work Zone Awareness week since 2000. Apply to serve on a City commission/ committee by April 5

Menlo Park welcomes and encourages residents' active participation through serving on a City-appointed commission or committee. Commissions examine issues of community interest and make recommendations to the City Council on policy matters.
