On Saturday, December 1, from 1–4:30 p.m., the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association presents the Taste of the Mountains Wine Walk in Downtown Menlo Park! Enjoy wines from 13 local boutique wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Participants will check in at Fremont Park to receive a wristband, map and special event wineglass. The National Weather Service predicts an active weather pattern will redevelop by Tuesday, November 27, as a weather system spreads light to moderate rain across much of the region. A second, stronger, system is then forecast to affect the region on Wednesday night and Thursday. Widespread moderate to heavy rain, especially Wednesday night and Thursday morning, may occur. RethinkWaste is calling on all 3rd-5th grade students in its service area, including Menlo Park, to show off their artistic talent in our 2018 Rethink Recycling Holiday Edition Poster Contest. Students are asked to create a poster with the theme of "Rethink Recycling for the Holidays." How do you actively rethink recycling during the holiday season? Police and Fire face off for "Battle of the Badges" blood drive

Join your local police and fire heroes at this American Red Cross blood drive to ensure hospitals and patients have the lifesaving blood they need. Menlo Park's local "Battle of the Badges" blood drive is planned for Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 701 Laurel St. The American Red Cross is currently facing a severe blood shortage and needs our help now, so blood can be available for patients during this critical time.
