On Aug. 25, 2018, bring your furry four-legged friends and your family members to Menlo Park’s 3rd Annual Paws for Paws Walk at Burgess Park in Menlo Park. Paws for Paws benefits the Menlo Park Police Foundation and the Menlo Park Police Department K9 Unit. The fun begins at 8 a.m. and is a morning filled with activities and raffles. Menlo Park welcomes new police recruits Jose Alvarez and Eric Lopez. Jose and Eric attend the basic police academy, Coyote Valley campus in San Jose, for the next six months. The basic police academy is offered by The Academy through South Bay Regional Public Safety Training. The police academy is intensive police training program, which consists of written and physical abilities tests. Corporation Yard Emergency Supply Well – Contract Award for Phase 2

Following the completion of Phase 1, which involved drilling a well at the Corporation Yard for emergency use, the contract for Phase 2 of the project is being awarded. Phase 2 involves the installation of pumping and disinfection equipment, as well as an emergency generator. Construction is anticipated to begin early in 2019 and last through the end of spring.
