On July 17, the City hosted the Northern California Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) Summer Field Day at Burgess Park. STMA is the recognized leader in the sports turf industry, combining the science of growing turf grasses and the art of maintaining fields to produce safe and aesthetically pleasing playing surfaces. The Esri User Conference was held in San Diego from July 9-13, and in the crowd of nearly 18,000 attendees were staff from the City’s Administrative Services, Public Works, and Community Development Departments to better learn how geographic information systems (GIS) can use emerging technologies to best communicate information to the City’s residents, as well as improve and automate internal procedures. Menlo Park tabbed for optimized traffic flow pilot project

Beginning this fall and continuing for the next 12-18 months, the Optimizing Urban Traffic (OUT) pilot project will be deployed in Menlo Park to optimize traffic flow along Marsh Road, Bayfront Expressway and Willow Road, east of U.S. 101. Specifically, the pilot will:
