Fourth of July Parade & Celebration

Bring the entire family downtown on July 4, 2018 for the City of Menlo Park’s Annual Fourth of July Parade & Celebration! The Parade starts at 11:45 am on Chestnut Street next to Wells Fargo. Come dressed in red, white, & blue and decorate your bike or wagon to participate in this fun-filled people parade! The Celebration is at Burgess Park starting directly after the parade from Noon-2:30 pm. Enjoy our annual celebration with live music, carnival games, jump houses, rock walls, crafts, face painting, tot lot, putt putt golf, disco dome, food and more!
Come enjoy live music performed by Mustache Harbor. A $8.00 wristband is required for some activities and can be purchased in advance by going to the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium (600 Alma Street) Mon-Fri 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Wristband sales will be available at the Parade and Celebration, but expect long lines so participants are encouraged to buy wristbands in advance.


Summer Concert Series:
Vintage Jukebox

The Summer Concert Series welcomes back Vintage Jukebox a 6-piece Swing era big band comprised of some of the finest jazz musicians in the Bay Area. Vintage Jukebox is one of only a handful of professional big bands in the United States, focusing solely on the music of the Swing era (early 20's through early 60's). Their repertoire includes an extensive catalog of standards from the Great American Songbook, featuring the works of legendary songwriters: Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hammerstein Mark our calendars and join us July 11 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Fremont Park in Downtown Menlo Park. Bring a chair, a comfortable blanket, and some snacks.  A special thanks to our event sponsor Hi-Five Sports.


Music@Menlo: Creative Capitals

Music@Menlo's sixteenth festival, Creative Capitals, takes place from July 13–August 4 and celebrates great musical cities from around the world. Concert programs in the Center for Performing Arts at Menlo-Atherton feature beloved works by chamber music luminaries including Bach, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, alongside lesser-heard works. The festival also features the West Coast premiere of a recently discovered viola work by Dmitri Shostakovich, and the return of the celebrated Calidore String Quartet to Menlo-Atherton. With 46 internationally renowned artists featured, and an ambitious three weeks of concerts and free afternoon events, Creative Capitals will be a thrilling tour of chamber music masterpieces from around the world.



Summer Puppetry Fesitval

This summer, the Menlo Park Belle Haven Library celebrates puppetry in its many forms! Drop in for one event, or join us for the entire series! On the Sundays when no show is scheduled, join us for puppet crafts and coloring.

July 15 - Magical Moonshine Theatre: The Puppet Man
July 25 - Silly Goose & Val
July 29 - Puppet Art Theater: Frankenswine

This series of events is held in partnership with the Friends of the Menlo Park Library. 


Menlo Summer Fest

The fabulously fun, kick-back days of summer are upon us and the Bay Area’s popular outdoor festival season is in full swing. For a sun-splashed weekend featuring two days of stellar live music, world-class art by 200 of America’s top artists, fabulous food and drink, artisan specialty food purveyors, home and garden exhibits, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, and tons of fun for kids, head to bustling downtown Menlo Park for Menlo Summerfest, “Hot Fun In The Summertime”, coming up July 21-22, 2018. The Menlo Summerfest is hosted by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. 


Summer Concert Series:
Rachel Steele and Road 88

We welcome Rachel Steele and Road 88 to the Fremont Park stage! Rachel Steele style is a truly unique fusion of country and rock with a touch of R&B. The band has fine tuned its focus on events and this is where the blend of music works so well. Although known as a country band, adding in the other genres of music crosses musical lines guaranteeing everyone has a good time. Join us on July 25 from 6:30–8:00 pm at Fremont Park in Downtown Menlo Park! 


Menlo Movie Series

The 2018 Menlo Movie Series films have been announced! This year's event has been relocated to Burgess Park. Additionally, a city-run snack booth will be available at each event. The series will feature free outdoor movies in Menlo Park July-September. Grab your minions and join us in Burgess Park for the first event of the series, as we watch Despicable Me 3, July 27 starting at 8:45 pm! Be sure to bring a chair, blanket, and some snacks to enjoy.
