Summer Camp Fair

Looking for exciting summer activities for your children that promote social and physical development? Join the City of Menlo Park on March 2, 2018, 6:00-7:30 pm at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center for our Summer Camp Fair! Parents and children are invited to attend to gain resources on summer programs in Menlo Park. Camp programs are geared for children aged 3-12 years as well as a Counselor in Training program for teens aged 13-15 years. Some camps will fill up fast, so don’t wait! The fair will feature free pizza, games, crafts, and a camp raffle for summer themed prizes and even a free week of camp. When you register your child at the event, you receive 10% off all city run camps. Camps included are: Sports Camps, Camp Menlo, Mini Madness, Munchkin Madness, Menlo Madness, Sky’s the Limit, Menlo Palooza and many more. 


Science Night

Science Night is back again! Join us at the Menlo Park Main Library, located at 800 Alma St., on March 8, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 pm for fun and fascination. With a wide range of exhibits and hands-on activities, this event is will be a blast for adults, teens and elementary school-aged children alike. Participating organizations include: Lawrence Hall of Science, NASA, San Mateo County Parks, Beetlelady, Environmental Volunteers, and M-A Robotics. The event is free, thanks to partial funding from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.


Total Health Screening

In a collaboration with Mills Peninsula Senior Focus, the Menlo Park Senior Center will be hosting its annual Total Health Screening for seniors over 62. The program provides free screening and health education services with an emphasis on heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. While it’s open to all seniors, the hope is to have those who have least access to health care check-in with the nurses and discuss their health issues. This event  will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 9:00 am-noon at the Menlo Park Senior Center located at 110 Terminal Ave. 


Spring Fling Dance

Put on your dancing shoes and come join the Menlo Park Senior Center as they welcome Spring with their Spring Fling Dance! Get ready for a delicious homemade lunch, dessert, and an amazing DJ. Be sure to purchase raffle tickets for an opportunity to win prize baskets and more! This event will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 11:30 am-1:00 pm at the Menlo Park Senior Center located at 110 Terminal Ave. Event tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. All proceeds will further benefit the Senior Center programming.  


Nowruz, Persian New Year

Join The Menlo Park Senior Center and Baha’i Community of Menlo Park to celebrate Nowruz, Persian New Year. Nowruz, or "new day" in Persian, is an ancient festival that marks the beginning of spring and celebrates the rebirth of nature. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from Noon-2:00 pm, enjoy great music, an array of food, and a cultural display to enable participants to learn about the wonderful diversity in our community. This event will be held  at the Senior Center located at 110 Terminal Ave. Event tickets are $3. 


A Visit with Harry Houdini

The Menlo Park Main Library invites you to witness the legendary Harry Houdini accomplish the incredible feat of returning to earth, thanks to this one-man show performed by Duffy Hudson. In this captivating event, Hudson-as-Houdini will impart fascinating details of the star's life and career, pull off fantastical escapes, and show off enthralling bits of stage magic. You'll have to see it to believe it! This event will take place at the City Council Chambers, located at 701 Laurel St., from 11:00 am-noon on March 24, 2018


World Storytelling Day

The Menlo Park Library System is proud to be a part of World Storytelling Day, a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling! On March 20, 2018 both the Menlo Park Main Library and the Belle Haven Branch will be hosting a pair of renowned professional storytellers, each sharing a captivating, all-ages performance! Muriel Johnson will be reading at the Belle Haven Branch, located at 413 Ivy Drive, at 3:30 pm and Erica Lann-Clark will be reading at the Menlo Park Main Library, located at 800 Alma St., at 7:00 pm. 


Easter Egg Hunt

Why should children have all the fun!? Join us the week before Easter to create baskets for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 12:45-2:45 pm in the Senior Center’s Memorial Garden. There will be prizes hidden inside a few of the eggs, and as always, the lucky Golden Egg Winner will have a very special surprise waiting for them! So make sure to stop by this amazing, free event!


Burgess and Kelly Park Egg Hunt

Hop on over to Burgess or Kelly Parks on March 31, 2018 from 10:00 am-Noon and join the City of Menlo Park, the Menlo Park Firefighter’s Association and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District for our Annual Egg Hunts! The Bunny will arrive at 10:00 am for pictures and the hunt will start at 10:20 am. Children are allowed to collect four eggs and should bring their own basket or bag. Each egg hunt will feature bounce houses, a jelly bean guess, crafts and more!  Be sure to bring your own camera for photo opportunities with the Bunny!
