The City of Menlo Park announced a data-sharing partnership with Waze, the free, real-time crowdsourced traffic and navigation app powered by the world’s largest community of drivers. Designed as a free, two-way data share of publicly available traffic information, the Connected Citizens Program (CCP) promotes greater efficiency, deeper insights and safer roads for the citizens of Menlo Park along with nearly 500 other partners around the world. On Jan. 17, 2018, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) announced that the City of Menlo Park has received the organization's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fiscal year 2017-18 budget. "The award represents a significant achievement by the [City]. Menlo Park teens invited to apply for cultural exchange trip to Japan

Menlo Park invites residents between the ages of 12 and 15 years old to apply for the Student Cultural Exchange Trip  to visit the town and families of Bizen, Japan, a Friendship City with Menlo Park. The trip is for 10 teens and three parents/related adults. It is tentatively scheduled for one week in late July/early August 2018.
