More residents needed to serve on advisory committees 

The City still has openings on two important advisory committees. The City currently has up to nine seats on the Advisory Districting Committee and three seats on the Belle Haven Neighborhood Library Advisory Committee. The Advisory Districting Committee will be responsible for reviewing and recommending the City’s first ever City Council district boundaries. Willow-101 bridge demolition has started

Caltrans crews have begun demolition of the existing bridge at Willow Road and U.S. 101. Due to the need to close freeway lanes for safety, some of this work will be done overnight when traffic volumes are lowest. This work began in mid-December and continues through mid-January. Periodic lane closures on the freeway and on Willow Road are expected during the nighttime hours. This year's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is now available

Each year, the City's external auditors conduct an audit of the City's financial records and assist staff in publishing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report or CAFR. The primary purposes of the CAFR are to provide accountability and transparency to the City Council and public, in addition to reasonable assurance of reliability based on the assistance of an independent auditing source. Menlo Integrative Training/CrossFit Five Branches named winner of Holiday Display Contest 

With 27 participants, over 180 votes cast, and five judges to tie it all together, the first annual Holiday Display Contest was an enormous success. Throughout the month of December, businesses lit up their storefronts and lobbies with festive lights and decoration. Menlo Integrative Training/CrossFit Five Branches pulled away victorious as viewers appreciated their unique elements including kettle bell shaped ornaments and Santa himself...Click to continue

Bayfront, Willow, Marsh Adaptive Signal System grant recommended to move forward

The San Mateo County Transportation Authority’s (SMCTA) agenda for Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, includes recommendations from their staff on the Measure A 2017 Highway Projects call for projects. The City of Menlo Park’s application to implement an adaptive traffic signal system along Willow Road, Marsh Road and Bayfront Expressway is included in those projects recommended for funding. Battle of the Badges blood drive is a success

The American Red Cross along with police and fire appreciate the generous blood donations received from the community and staff. We are proud to report that 24 units of blood were donated at our first City of Menlo Park Battle of the Badges blood drive held in Menlo Park in the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center. These donations will help to ensure hospitals and patients have the lifesaving blood they need. Battle of the Badges is a friendly competition that helps the Red Cross meet patient and hospital demand for blood.
