New Year’s celebration reminder: No discharging of firearms or fireworks

The Menlo Park Police Department reminds the community that discharging a firearm and/or using or possessing fireworks within the City of Menlo Park are illegal and are serious crimes that can cause severe injury or death to another person. There will be no tolerance for celebratory gunfire or fireworks. The reckless discharge of a firearm is a felony under Section 246.3 of the California Penal Code and the use and/or possession of fireworks is a misdemeanor...Click to continue

Police Explorers team with “One Warm Coat” program

The Menlo Park Police Explorers began their 6th annual coat drive and are still collecting coats for those who need a warm coat for the winter. The need has never been greater. This is an opportunity to make sure that no one goes without such a basic necessity as a coat this winter. Through Jan. 5, 2018, The Menlo Park Police Explorers are collecting new or clean, gently used coats as part of the One Warm Coat community service project.
