New signs being installed in Willows to help with Willow-101 interchange construction

The Willow-101 interchange project recently added two temporary traffic signals and changed the lane layout at each of the ramp locations for the next phase of construction. On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, City Council directed staff to install “No Thru Traffic” signs throughout the neighborhood to address the additional traffic that the neighborhood is experiencing. Mayor Kirsten Keith and MidPen Housing are hosting a community meeting Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, to solicit community input on MidPen’s 1283 Willow Road and 335 Pierce Street properties. The meeting will be held at the Menlo Park Senior Center located at 110 Terminal Avenue. Staff from the Santa Clara County Planning Department presented information on the Stanford University General Use Permit Draft EIR at a Community Meeting held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at the Menlo Park City Council Chambers. Police antenna construction to begin Friday, Nov. 17

Work to improve the City’s emergency communication system began this Friday, Nov. 17. A contractor is replacing an existing 60-foot high tower antenna located behind City Hall, with a new monopole structure that will be 120 feet high. With the increased height, the Police Department will be able to operate an independent radio communication network with full coverage for 911 dispatchers.
