Organizational Development

City Manager Alex D. McIntyre has taken initial steps toward a management reorganization. He plans to transition Community Services Director Cherise Brandell to a new role as Organizational Development Project Manager through June 2018. In her new role, Cherise will be focusing her time on facilitating on a strategic plan for the organization, working with employees at all levels to create and strengthen staff engagement, supporting our leaders and managers in becoming stronger communicators and ensuring our engagement...Click to continue

Halloween Hoopla Parade & Trick-or-Treat

Join us for Halloween Hoopla Oct. 28, 2017, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., it’s sure to be a treat! Begin the day by gathering with the other ghosts and goblins at Maloney Street parking lot behind 640 Santa Cruz Avenue for our annual costume parade through downtown Menlo Park! Then go door-to-door at the local businesses for the merchant trick-or-treat, sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. Traffic Signals Coming to Willow Road at 101

On Thursday, Oct. 26, and Friday, Oct. 27, traffic signals will be turned on for the intersections of Willow Road and the ramps to and from U.S. 101. The layout of the on- and off-ramps is also changing with both of the southbound ramps connecting to Willow Road on the south side of the street and both of the northbound ramps connecting to Willow Road on the north side of the street. The Menlo Park Library is celebrating its Friends this week, National Friends of the Library Week. Thanks to our Friends group, the public gets to enjoy an enriching slate of events including the library’s annual Summer Learning Program, twice-yearly Science Nights, coding classes for teens, author visits, musical performances (this Saturday, Vellamo joins us, direct from Finland), and our very popular adult “A Visit with…” series, in which we’ve been able to meet historical figures...Click to continue

Recreation programming impacted by poor air quality

The recent wildfires in the North Bay have caused unprecedented levels of air pollution throughout the entire Bay Area. On Oct. 10, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued a health advisory and Spare the Air Alert recommending residents to protect their health by staying indoors. As a result, outdoor recreation programming in Menlo Park was canceled or moved indoors in an effort to protect the health of our program participants and residents...Click to continue

Flood Park Draft EIR comment period open 10/3-11/16

The City received a letter from the County of San Mateo Parks Department asking for our comments on their proposal to restore and improve Flood Park which is a 24.5 acre park located in Menlo Park. The public review and comment period for the Flood Park Draft Environmental Information Report (EIR) will be from 10/3/2017 to 11/16/2017.
