On Sept. 22, 2017, two developments within The City of Menlo Park won two out of the 15 awards from The 2017 Silicon Valley Structures event. Stage Delight Theater Camp awarded City grant

After the success of the Menlo Park Grant for the Arts (MPGA), the City of Menlo Park launched the Menlo Park Grant for Theater Camps (MPGTC) in 2014. The grant was designed to help subsidize the rental cost of the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center (M-A PAC) for new, small and/or local organizations in an effort to support the Menlo Park artistic community. Youth community police academy is off to a great start

Police kicked off a six week youth community police academy Saturday, Sept. 16, which continues for the next five Saturdays. There are over 20 participants attending the academy ranging from ages 13 to 18 currently in 8-12 grades. The first session started with an icebreaker led by Police Chief Bob Jonsen and a search and seizure/laws of arrest segment followed by a presentation by Canine Officer Manny Torres with his K-9 partner “Hardy.”...Click to continue

On Thursday, Sept. 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Menlo Park Library will be hosting its fifth Science Night for adults, teens and elementary school-aged children. Attendees will be able to visit the various demonstration & exhibit stations at their own pace during this free event sponsored by the Friends of the Menlo Park Library. San Francisquito Creek cleanup is a success

On Sept. 6&7, city staff participated in the annual San Francisquito Creek inspection coordinated by the Joint Powers Authority. The purpose of the creek walk is to identify items such as downed trees and other large debris in the channel that could obstruct flows and pose a threat to public safety during large winter storm events. Items that needed attention were tagged and assigned to the appropriate entity for maintenance. Walking the length of the creek took 2 to four hours each day...Click to continue
