Along with the excitement building around the solar eclipse Aug. 21, you may not realize that this celestial event is also going to impact energy production from solar panels during a peak time of day. Much of the energy provided to Menlo Park residents and business comes from solar panels. Carpool in San Mateo County Program

Have you ever wanted to try carpooling but did not know where to start? Carpooling in San Mateo County is now better and easier than before! In addition to helping reduce greenhouse gas and congestion on the road, now you can get paid to carpool! The City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG) – in partnership with Commute.org – is sponsoring a pilot carpool program utilizing the Scoop carpool app to reward carpoolers with up to $4 a day...Click to continue

Dumbarton Corridor Recommendations Released

This week, SamTrans released draft recommendations that would address traffic congestion and create new mobility alternatives along the Dumbarton Corridor between Alameda County and San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The recommendations are available in the draft report on the SamTrans website and were presented during community meetings Aug. 15 in Union City and Aug. 16 in East Palo Alto. Solar Eclipse Viewing Event at the Library

The countdown is on for the solar eclipse that happens this Monday, Aug. 21. Beginning at 9 a.m., join fellow eclipse watchers in front of the library to see this rare event. The moon will eclipse 80 percent of the sun in Menlo Park that morning, with the peak eclipse occurring around 10:15 a.m. Be sure to view the eclipse safely - never look directly at the sun without special eclipse viewing glasses. On Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 and Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 Onetta Harris Community Center will be hosting its 5th Annual “Music in the Park” event at Kelly Park.
