Development counter services will be unavailable Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and Thursday, July 6, 2017, in order to install new carpet in the lobby. However, City staff will be available by phone at 650-330-6704. In addition, the Community Development webpage contains forms and guidelines for new construction, additions and remodels. Reminder: Fourth of July fireworks are prohibited in Menlo Park

The Police Department  reminds local residents and visitors that all forms of fireworks and gunfire are strictly prohibited in Menlo Park. This includes “safe & sane” fireworks as the potential for fires is extremely high due to hotter temperatures and dryness of grass and brush. It only takes one spark to start a fire, which can cause tremendous damage. Police will respond quickly to reports of unlawful use and/or possession...Click to continue

July 2017 Shuttle Service Changes

Services changes to selected shuttle routes will take effect Monday, July 10, 2017. The M1-Menlo Midday, M2-Belle Haven and M3-Marsh Road shuttles will be changed. The M4-Willow Road shuttle will remain the same. The M1-Menlo Midday route will change after stopping at the Sharon Heights Shopping Center. Long time Public Works engineer, Ruben Niño has retired after 29 years of service to the City of Menlo Park. Ruben started as an Assistant City Engineer and worked his way up to Assistant Public Works Director. Cultural Diversity Celebrated on Juneteenth at Senior Center

The 18th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Menlo Park Senior Center was held Thursday, June 15. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States, dating back to 1865. This event is held each year as a part of the Senior Center’s Building Bridges series of activities, where staff brings different cultures together in hopes for better understanding and tolerance...Click to continue

Sixty-nine Pre-Kindergarteners Graduate from the City of Menlo Park Preschools

The annual Menlo Children’s Center Preschool Graduation was held Thursday, June 15, with 20 children participating in the class of 2017. The graduates were busy all week rehearsing for their musical performance of “The World is a Rainbow” and “Dynamite Graduation.” Parents and Staff were also recognized for their work throughout the year.
