2017 Summer Concert Series presented by Facebook kicks of summer with style

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, The Sun Kings, a Beatles Tribute Band, is anticipated to draw a large crowd to Fremont Park from 6:30-8 p.m. to kick off the City of Menlo Park’s annual Summer Concert Series. Register your National Night Out block party

The time of year has arrived to start planning for National Night Out, and the police department is looking forward to helping neighbors organize their community events. This year’s event is Tuesday, Aug. 1, between 6-9 p.m. National Night Out is a nationwide, community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention. Library Event Celebrates Volunteers

The annual Library Volunteer Recognition Event was held May 25. Mayor Kirsten Keith addressed the assembled volunteers and thanked them for their hard work. According to volunteer coordinator Juan Quinonez, library volunteers have contributed more than 7000 hours in the past fiscal year -- working as literacy tutors with Project Read, as "Moles" in the library basement (sorting, pricing, and listing books for the Friends of the Library), and helping library staff mend books, prepare for events...Click to continue

Beechwood first-graders visit the Menlo Park Senior Center

First-graders, from Beechwood Elementary School, treated Menlo Park Senior Center patrons to a special performance Friday, June 2. The children welcomed enthusiastic senior guests into the dining room where they performed songs for the seniors during lunch. This event has been a part of on-going intergenerational events planned between the children and the seniors at the Center. Senior Center hosts 2-day, Alzheimer's workshop

Through a collaboration with Northern California Alzheimer’s Association, Menlo Park Senior Center will be hosting a two-day workshop, in Spanish, for caregivers working with loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's and other debilitating diseases.
