Summer Concert Series: The Sun Kings 

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, The Sun Kings, a Beatles Tribute Band, is anticipated to draw a large crowd to Fremont Park from 6:30-8:00 pm to kick off the City of Menlo Park’s annual Summer Concert Series presented by Facebook. Since their first concert with us in 2007, The Sun Kings have delighted our community each year with a fabulous collection of Beatles tunes that represent a nostalgic era of music. Full of passion, energy, humor, and professionalism The Sun Kings offer more than great music, but a venue for families to come together and see remarkable talent. Going into their 16th year and considered one of the premier Beatles Tribute acts in the country, The Sun Kings continue to amaze their fans and win over skeptics with their uncanny channeling and respect for the music they perform. The Sun Kings shine in concert with spot-on arrangements and vocal harmonies delivered with a driving energy, joy, and vitality that recall the earliest Beatles performances. Bring a chair, a comfortable blanket and some snacks. Bedwell-Bayfront Park Master Plan Open House

Come out to Bedwell-Bayfront Park on Saturday June 17, 2017 between 10:00 am-2:00 pm for a community event to receive input on the Bedwell-Bayfront Park Master Plan Project. Please come and share your thoughts on the conceptual plan alternatives and bring a neighbor or friend. The outreach event will be held in the parking lot near the park entrance and your input will help address existing maintenance, capital improvement needs and establish a park vision guiding improvements for the next 25 years. Light refreshments will be served. While you are there you can enjoy the 160-acres by flying a kite, taking a stroll through the park, riding your bike or sit and enjoy the wildlife as a way to start the summer season right. 


Summer Concert Series: Flashback

The Summer Concert Series presented by Facebook continues with Flashback, performing timeless Jazz Standards and favorite dance hits from the 50’s through the late 70’s that audiences around the world enjoy. Flashback also covers hits from 1930 through the present which includes swing/Big Band/jump swing, bossa nova, early rock'n'roll, classic rock, pop, blues, motown, classic soul, old school R&B, funk, disco, reggae, 80s Pop, Top 40 and a lil’ bit of country. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Fremont Park in Downtown Menlo Park. Purchase some food downtown and bring it to the park as you enjoy some live music. This concert is sponsored by Menlo Swim and Sport. Menlo Park Community Emergency Drill

On Saturday, June 14, 2017 between 8:00 am-1:00 pm, join us at Fremont Park for the inaugural Menlo Park Community Emergency Drill, "Neighbors Helping Neighbors," a joint community emergency drill with community resident volunteers, organizations and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) first responders. Menlo Park residents are encouraged to participate in the drill (no prior emergency response experience required). At this drill, residents will learn more about how we respond as a community in an emergency and learn how our CERT teams and equipment are used to help our neighbors and neighborhoods. The goal is to better prepare Menlo Park residents in case of a disaster and to improve collaboration between the City, first responders and volunteers during a major emergency. This drill, “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” is organized by the Menlo Park Fire Protection District's Community Crisis Management Team (CCM-CERT), in cooperation with the City of Menlo Park and Menlo Park Police Department. 


Summer Concert Series: California Groove

California Groove is a 6 piece party/dance band performing a blend of contemporary music such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Black Eyed Peas to older favorites like Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire, AC/DC, Motown, 50's hits and much more. Their wide array of music has something for everyone! Their excellent vocals, energetic choreography, dynamic musicianship, and audience interaction will keep you dancing and entertained. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Fremont Park in Downtown Menlo Park. Bring your family and friends to dance the night away. This concert is sponsored by Peninsula Associates. Fourth of July Parade & Celebration

Bring the entire family downtown on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 for the City of Menlo Park’s Annual Fourth of July Parade & Celebration! The Parade starts at 11:45 am on Chestnut Street next to Wells Fargo. Come dressed in red, white, & blue and decorate your bike or wagon to participate in this fun-filled people parade! The Celebration is at Burgess Park starting directly after the parade from Noon-2:30 pm. Activities will include inflatable jump houses, giant slides, games, crafts, face painting, rock walls and food! Come enjoy live music performed by Pop Fiction. A $7.00 wristband is required for some activities and can be purchased in advance by going to the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium (600 Alma Street) Mon-Fri 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Wristband sales will be available at the Parade and Celebration, but expect long lines so participants are encouraged to buy wristbands in advance.
