Menlo Park police recruits graduate from the police academy

Menlo Park welcomes its newest police employees, Officer James Walbridge and Officer Alicia Fajardo. Both graduated Thursday, Mar. 16, from the College of San Mateo police academy. The two started as police recruits in September 2016 and successfully completed six months of intensive police training, which consisted of written and physical abilities tests. New Complete Streets Commission

On Feb. 7, 2017, the City Council discussed their 2017 Work Plan, including consideration of a one-year trial to combine the current Bicycle Commission and Transportation Commission to form a Complete Streets Commission. In order to avoid overlap with other city commission meetings, beginning April 17, the Library Commission will meet on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Library Commission meetings are held in the main library lower level meeting room. An exciting winter session has started at Onetta Harris Community Center with 20 percent higher attendance in winter classes over last year. This means 400 additional people are coming to the Center for classes and drop-in programs. Facebook is also renting the Center’s gym on Mondays and Wednesdays for Volleyball.
