Grease Sing-along

It's back by popular demand! The City of Menlo Park presents the Grease Sing-along on Oct 1st from 3pm-5pm at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center. Dust off that leather jacket or find that poodle skirt and join us for some interactive family fun. It’s the one that you want! Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a T-bird or a Pink Lady but never quite felt cool enough to pull it off? Well, now is your chance to don those pink jackets, grease up those quiffs and let your inhibitions go for an afternoon where you are the stars. Sing-along events are presented with a pre-show introduction including explanation of the sing-along elements. Enjoy a special fun pack to help you interact with the movie, costume contest, prizes and fun giveaways. General admission is $5.00, space is limited. GREASE is the word!

Paws for Paws Walk

Bring your furry four-legged friend and family members to Menlo Park’s first Paws for Paws Walk through beautiful Burgess Park on Oct 8th from 8am-12pm. Paws for Paws benefits the Menlo Park Police Foundation and the Menlo Park Police Department K9 Unit. A $30 family registration fee covers your canine and four family members. The $25 single registration fee covers your canine and one owner. All registrations include a goodie bag, one raffle ticket and an event souvenir for your doggie. Each additional canine is just $5.00. This is a fun-filled morning, leading off with registration at 8 a.m. and the walk starting at 9 a.m. During your walk, keep your raffle ticket handy, every hour there will be a giveaway! At 11 a.m. catch an exciting K9 demonstration by Menlo Park’s finest. Throughout the morning there will be contests for the doggies, complete with awards!

Menlo Park Library Comic Con

Bring your friends to the Menlo Park Library on Oct 15th from 3pm-7pm and immerse yourself in an afternoon of comic-related fun for all ages at the Menlo Park Library Comic Con. Enjoy live music from the Cantina Band, cosplay, guest speakers, film screenings, comic book trading, games, venders, artists, crafts and more! No registration to attend, just show up as your favorite comic book character and get ready for an experience like no other. 

Pumpkin Decorating Day

Pumpkins, paint, and glitter! These and more will be waiting for you when you sign up for Pumpkin Decorating Day on Oct 22nd at the Menlo Park Library from 10:30am-3pm: Ages 3-7 from 10:30am-12pm and ages 8-12 from 1:30pm-3pm. Registration opens on Oct 8th and space is limited. We'll provide all of the craft supplies--and the pumpkin! You bring your imagination and an art smock or old t-shirt if you like.

OHCC Spooky Carnival

Come enjoy an evening of Halloween-inspired carnival games and activities at the Onetta Harris Community Center on Oct 26th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. There will be games and snacks at this free event so don’t miss out on all the spooky fun! Remember to wear your Halloween costume for a chance to compete in the costume contests! For more information call (650) 330-2250.

Halloween Hoopla 

Put on your Halloween costume and parade through downtown Menlo Park at our annual Halloween Hoopla Parade & Trick-or-Treat on Oct 29th from 11am-2pm. Participants are welcome to come in costume and participate in the annual parade through downtown Menlo Park to Fremont Park. Led by a band comprised of music students from La Entrada and Hillview Middle Schools, the parade will start in the Maloney Street parking lot off Santa Cruz Avenue. Please meet at the parade start at 11:00 a.m. After the parade, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., kids are welcome to trick-or-treat to local downtown merchants. Enjoy live entertainment, carnival games, and crafts sponsored by Cheeky Monkey Toys. Free trick-or-treat bags will available at Fremont Park for all children. Be sure to participate in our NEW Pumpkin Carving Contest by completing the online registration form.   

Menlowe Ballet presents TRIBUTE

Menlowe Ballet marks its five-year anniversary with TRIBUTE, a celebratory program featuring world premieres, a classical jewel, and the revival of a signature company work, Nov 3, 5 & 6 at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center. In just five years, Menlowe Ballet has risen to become one of the Bay Area’s most compelling and unique professional ballet companies. To honor the anniversary, illustrious dance icon Dennis Nahat returns to the Menlowe to stage his rapturous version of the classical Le Corsaire Pas de Deux. Tickets range from $30-$60 and are available online.
