[ARCHIVED] City Manager announces promotions, additional staffing changes at City Hall

City Manager Alex D. McIntyre announced two promotions that are effective Monday, August 6, 2018. Nick Pegueros, current administrative services director, has been named as the city’s new assistant city manager and Lenka Diaz, current human resources manager, has been named as the new administrative services director.

Nick Pegueros joined Menlo Park in August 2015 and has served as Menlo Park’s administrative services director since January 2016. His work has included serving as the city’s chief financial officer, in addition to overseeing human resources and information technology functions. Pegueros has over 18 years of public sector experience including previous work in the finance department at the City of San Bruno, as administrative services director for the Town of Los Altos Hills and as the town manager for the Town of Portola Valley. Pegueros holds an executive master’s degree in public administration from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Columbia University.

Lenka Diaz joined Menlo Park in January 2016 as human resources manager. In this role, she oversaw all employee recruitment, employee development and employee relations activities for the city. Diaz possesses over 20 years of public sector experience including work in Redwood City's human resources division and a variety of positions during 16 years with the City of Newark, including positions in human resources, public works and recreation and community services.

Along with this news, City Manager McIntyre also acknowledged several employees who have announced they will be leaving the organization in the coming weeks.

Assistant Public Works Director Nikki Nagaya has accepted a position with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). Her last day with the City will be August 28, 2018.

Library Services Director Susan Holmer has announced her retirement. Her last day with the City will be October 5, 2018.

Deputy City Clerk Jelena Harada has accepted a position with Alameda–Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit). Her last day with the City will be August 16, 2018.
