Menlo Park El Camino Corridor Study

Posted on: October 6, 2014

[ARCHIVED] October 6, 2014 - Menlo Park ConnectMenlo - Transportation Symposium and Focus Group

As you may be aware, the City has embarked on ConnectMenlo, the City’s General Plan update process.  The General Plan is a long-term plan that will guide future development, land uses and transportation in the City.  As part of ConnectMenlo, the City will be examining land uses and development standards for the M-2 zoning area, as well as mobility issues citywide.  The M-2 area is generally located between Highway 101 and the San Francisco Bay and is primarily a combination of industrial, office and research and development uses.

We encourage you to stay informed and welcome your participation at our upcoming events focused on transportation, mobility and connectivity.

Transportation Symposium
Wednesday, October 8, 2014
City Council Chamber
701 Laurel Street
7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The purpose of the Traffic, Transportation, Circulation and Mobility Symposium on October 8th is to increase understanding of various ways to measure traffic impacts, including conventional intersection Level of Service (LOS), roadway segment LOS, Multi-Modal LOS, and Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT), and discuss which may be best suited for Menlo Park.

We will also be looking at four case studies:
      a)  Marsh Road/Bayfront Expressway
      b)  Oak Grove Avenue/Laurel Street
      c)  Middlefield Road between Ravenswood Avenue and Willow Road
      d)  Chilco Street between Bayfront Expressway and Terminal Avenue

 Focus Group
October 16, 2014
Arrillaga Recreation Center (Oak Room)
700 Alma Street
7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The discussion about transportation, mobility and connectivity will continue at a Focus Group Session.  Share your perspective on how mobility and connectivity can be improved throughout the City.  The focus group will allow us to explore and discuss different modes of transportation and various metrics used to measure transportation performance.
