Holiday tree collection

Once you’ve removed all the tinsel, lights, decorations, and stands from your holiday tree, you can leave the tree next to your green Compost Cart and Recology will pick it up for you between January 1 and January 31 on your regular collection day
Residential customers
Please make sure trees are 8 feet and under. If it’s taller than 8 feet, cut the tree into lengths of 8 feet or less before placing next to or inside your green Compost Cart. After January 31st, trees must be cut up and placed inside the green Compost Cart for collection.
Apartment managers
Please call to arrange for collection of holiday trees. Trees can be collected in piles or in a drop box for no additional charge. For more information, please call Recology San Mateo County directly.
