Poetry Lab with Lisa Rosenberg

Wednesday, August 26, 2020

How can you craft poems that surprise and delight? The former San Mateo County Poet Laureate leads a skill-sharpening workshop open to all levels of experience.

How does a poem create its effects? How can we, as writers, create poems that surprise and delight?

With these broad questions in mind, we’ll use our skills as writers and as readers to deepen our understanding of how poems function. We’ll experiment with compositional tools in a conversational workshop format, and leave with resources for ongoing work. Open to all levels of experience.

What you’ll need
  • A poem of your own
  • A favorite poem by another poet
(Paper copies are great if available, so you can make notes on them during the workshop.)
