Instrument Petting Zoo - Canceled

Thursday, April 16, 2020

Enjoy a brief after-hours musical program, followed by a chance for children to get a feel for the instruments!

What are string instruments made of, and how do they produce sound and music? More importantly, why do we make music?

Join the acclaimed musicians and teaching artists of Chamber Music by the Bay during their ninth season of bringing live music education to thousands of young audience members throughout the San Francisco Bay Area! Following the performance, audience members will get to visit the Instrument Petting Zoo to try their hand at the instruments.

Experience
  • An interactive musical performance
  • Learn how string instruments work
  • Try your hand at the instruments
  • While all ages are welcome, this program is especially geared at young audience members ages ten and below
Event takes place after closing time in the library's Great Hall, with most seating on the floor.

About Chamber Music by the Bay
Chamber Music by the Bay aims to foster teamwork, communication, artistic expression, and creative thinking between professional musicians, youth, and communities by bringing chamber music performances and educational programs to pre-K-12 schools, libraries, and hospitals throughout the Bay Area.

Founded in 2012 by violist Jessica Chang through generous support from the Saratoga Music Boosters and a Community Artists Program grant from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Chamber Music by the Bay was established with the core belief that many of life’s most important lessons are learned through experiencing chamber music. Through its performances in the community, Chamber Music by the Bay reaches over 2,000 students and community members of all ages annually.

This free event made possible thanks in part to funding support from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.
