Summer Puppetry Festival: Circus Fantastico

Sunday, August 25, 2019

For the first time, we get to host Southern California's Luce Puppet Company!

This summer, the Belle Haven Branch Library celebrates puppetry in its many forms, by hosting a series of puppet shows by a variety of performers from throughout the Bay Area and beyond!

This week, we welcome the Luce Puppet Company, on tour from Southern California! Their newest show features an international cast of performers: acrobatic ducks, a tightrope-walking flamingo, a balancing bear, and a befuddled janitor will charm and thrill you with the most unique circus show on earth!

About Luce Puppet Company
Elizabeth Luce built her first rod puppet when she was five years old. Some years later, after earning an MFA from UCLA in set and costume design, Elizabeth worked as a professional theatre designer for over ten years. She has also worked as a graphic designer/illustrator. She has received awards for her design work in both fields, including an Emmy for her original children’s video, The Mousecracker, an all-mouse puppet version of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.

This free event received funding support from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.
