Film Screening: Vietnam: The Secret Agent

Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Join us for the classic documentary showing the history of chemical warfare and the plight of our Vietnam vets.

Using striking archive and war footage in support of interviews with veterans, scientists, attorneys, the U.S. Air Force, the Veterans Administration, Dow Chemical and more; this film documents the extraordinary history of chemical warfare, agricultural herbicides, damage to the world environment, and the plight of Vietnam veterans and their families as they struggle for treatment of exposure to Agent Orange and dioxin.

About War Comes Home: The Legacy
Throughout March-April, 2019, the Menlo Park Main Library is hosting a special exhibition and program series exploring separation and reunion over multiple American wars. Showcasing veterans and their families adjusting to civilian life together–or facing the long-term costs of war–this powerful exhibition explores feelings of grief, joy, doubt, and love, bringing the real experiences of war home to all of us.

The traveling exhibition War Comes Home: The Legacy is a partnership between California Humanities, the California State Library and Exhibit Envoy. It is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the BayTree Fund, The Whitman Fund, and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
