Saturday, July 14, 2018

Nationally-renowned storytellers Erica Lann-Clark and Olga Loya invite you to fill up on a feast of unbelievable true stories!

Delight in a mind-opening, taboo-busting stew of stories people don't tell for fear of ridicule. Erica Lann-Clark and Olga Loya team up to tell them! They say their amazing, true and unbelievable tales turn what's real inside-out and shake people up for a minute, an hour or a lifetime.

Olga tells about working with a ‘curandero’ and having to look at things in a whole new way. Erica tells how the wishes, mistakes and relationships of a cross-country trip took her family to places they never even dreamed of!

Erica and Olga offer to draw you into the powerful mysterious unknown of unbelievable but true stories that show the mystery, beauty and kinship of all life. The duo will follow unbelievable but true stories with just the right folktales!

About Olga Loya
Olga Loya is a San Jose-based storyteller, author, performance artist, keynote speaker, and teacher who has performed and taught workshops throughout the United States and Mexico. Loya performs a large repertoire of family and personal stories with the goal of exploring the struggles and complexity of being bicultural: a Mexican–American in the United States. Loya also tells bilingual Latin American folklore and colorful and sometimes magical stories from Africa, India, Asia, the Antilles and Europe. Loya uses stories as a way of examining themes like healing, racism and multiculturalism. She incorporates a variety of performance styles, including improvisation, movement and dance, song and instruments. Olga Loya performs in theaters, universities, festivals, conferences, museums, libraries and schools.
