Police attended the San Mateo County Board of Supervisor’s meeting Jan. 24, where officers from San Mateo County were honored and thanked by Napa County Sheriff Robertson for their assistance during the devastating Napa and Sonoma County fires. San Mateo County law enforcement agencies sent over 700 officers to assist both counties over a two week period. Menlo Park was able to send 18 officers during that time to assist.
Sheriff Robertson gave high praise to the officers from San Mateo County and commented that he still receives compliments from residents who were extremely appreciative and impressed by the empathy and compassion shown by law enforcement. He also spoke about countless acts of bravery and valor by first responders during this tragedy.
