Have you ever wanted to try carpooling but did not know where to start? Carpooling in San Mateo County is now better and easier than before! In addition to helping reduce greenhouse gas and congestion on the road, now you can get paid to carpool! The City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG) – in partnership with Commute.org – is sponsoring a pilot carpool program utilizing the Scoop carpool app to reward carpoolers with up to $4 a day.

How does it work? Both drivers and riders using the Scoop app are eligible to receive $2 for each commute period trip made for rides originating or ending in San Mateo County. These are AM trips from 5:30 a.m.-10 a.m., and PM trips from 3:30 p.m.-8 p.m. for a maximum of $4 a day. The Scoop app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Itunes App Store. Through Scoop, commuters are easily matched with other riders that have similar pickup/drop off locations, times, etc. Learn more and get started today, who knew it pays to carpool!
