Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the Santa Cruz Avenue Sidewalk project are nearly complete. The fourth and final phase will begin June 26 and is scheduled to last until early August. New sidewalks, driveways and accessible ramps have been installed on the south side of Santa Cruz Avenue between Olive Street and Fremont Street and on the north side of Santa Cruz Avenue between Johnson Street and San Mateo Drive. Once the Santa Cruz Avenue Sidewalk Project is complete, the street will be resurfaced and striped by the 2017 Street Resurfacing Project.
During Phase 4, the two-way left turn lane will be eliminated and westbound traffic will be shifted into the center of the road between San Mateo Drive and Olive Street. Bicycle lanes will be maintained in both directions. Please note that there will be no pedestrian access on the north side of Santa Cruz Avenue between San Mateo Drive and Olive Street during Phase 4. Pedestrians should use the crosswalks at San Mateo Drive and Olive Street to cross Santa Cruz Avenue and walk along the south side of Santa Cruz Avenue.
