The adult softball season ended in mid-May with the crowning of two new league champions. With the season wrapping up, the
Nealon Park softball field can now be prepared for a full renovation. The Nealon Park Sports Field is getting an upgrade! New sod will be installed and the irrigation system will be upgraded. Starting June 1, 2017, the sports field will be closed to all users while the contractor removes the old grass, replaces the sprinkler system, amends the soil and adds new grass. The construction work is expected to take about four months, which should allow the grass enough time to take hold before the Fall softball season. During construction, dog park users are being asked to use the temporary dog park located next to the Little House. Parks staff have temporarily increased the dog park hours of operation from 7 a.m. to dusk to accommodate all users. See the City's webpage for more information regarding Nealon Park.
