The Santa Cruz Avenue Sidewalk project is advancing on schedule with phase 1 and 2 are already complete and phase 3 getting underway. Phase 3 will continue until late June and then work will begin on the 4th and final phase. The entire project is expected to finish this fall. The current phase 3 work includes the installation of sidewalks, accessible ramps, and storm drain pipe along the north side of Santa Cruz Avenue between Johnson Street and San Mateo Drive.

Within the phase 3 section, the two-way left turn lane will be eliminated and westbound traffic (away from downtown) will be shifted into the center of the road. Bicycle lanes will be maintained in both directions. There will be no pedestrian access on the north side of Santa Cruz Avenue between Johnson Street and San Mateo Drive, so pedestrians should use the crosswalks at Johnson Street and Cotton Street and then walk along the south side of Santa Cruz Avenue.

For the most up-to-date information visit the project webpage. For more information regarding lane closures and other traffic impacts, check the City of Menlo Park Construction News Update. Construction within City streets may cause inconvenience and delays, but the City and the contractor are working hard to minimize the disruption, so we thank you for your patience.
