Science Night returns to the library

Posted on November 11, 2016 at 10:00 pm by Clay Curtin

On Nov. 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m., the second Science Night of the year comes to the library. This very popular event brings the fun and fascination of science to adults and children alike. Science Night develops children’s curiosity and their ability to solve scientific challenges, and provides an opportunity for parents and their children to learn together while having fun and making scientific connections to everyday life.

The Chabot Space & Science Center will be presenting its “Chabot to Go” program, featuring tabletop activities and demos, as well as the Cosmic Ray Planetary Theater, an inflatable indoor planetarium with several 15-minute star shows throughout the evening. Other participants include NorCal Bats, San Mateo County Astronomical Society, the Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society, Mad Science of the Bay Area as well as several other special presenters.

Science Night is geared toward elementary school-aged children as well as adults, with a focus on hands-on activities and exploration at their own pace. The event is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.
