The County of San Mateo recently launched a
groundwater basin assessment project for the San Mateo Plain Sub-Basin, which includes Menlo Park. The County will be making a presentation at the Sept. 13, 2016, City Council meeting. The project objectives are to evaluate hydrogeologic and groundwater conditions, identify potential impacts of sea level rise and climate change on groundwater quality and quantity, evaluate threats to the sub-basin quality and quantity, establish current and future potential recharge areas, develop potential groundwater management strategies and increase public knowledge.
