The
Library will host its
centennial celebration Saturday Sept. 10 with an
extravaganza that brings classics from "A Century of Stories" to life. One hundred years of books from the library with stories that spark the imagination will come to life. From 1–5 p.m., the lawns around the library will be filled by Alice in Wonderland, The Great Gatsby, Dr. Seuss, 1001 Nights and swashbuckling pirates galore. Vignettes from various stories will be re-enacted, musicians will play, belly-dancers will spin and henna and face-paint will flow. Snacks and drinks will keep children and adults fortified as they enjoy a Mad Hatter Tea Party or join Mr. Gatsby's Garden Party. Come in costume as your favorite story if you like! The afternoon will be fun for the whole family and a great way to celebrate the library and a century of stories.
