The construction to replace the damaged retaining walls of the Atherton Channel along Marsh Road between Middlefield Road and Fair Oaks Avenue is nearing completion and Marsh Road is scheduled to reopen to all traffic beginning Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, according to the
Town of Atherton. The City of Menlo Park transportation staff and police department will be monitoring the detour and closure areas to maintain efficient traffic operations.
Construction to replace the Atherton Channel walls and floor from Middlefield Road northerly to Fair Oaks Avenue began May 31. The retaining wall supporting Marsh Road, which also forms one of the walls of Atherton Channel, was in need of repair. The repair was vital to prevent safety issues.
