At its June 21 meeting, the
City Council approved a resolution calling the
election for Nov. 8, 2016, to elect two members of the Menlo Park City Council. Each seat’s four-year term will expire in December 2020.
The nomination period opens Monday, July 18, 2016, at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, unless an incumbent does not file. In the event an incumbent does not file by 5 p.m., Aug. 12, the filing period will be extended to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016.
The City of Menlo Park observes a
modified work schedule; therefore, potential candidates should take note that the City Clerk’s office is closed Friday, July 22, and Friday, Aug. 5.
The
County of San Mateo Elections Office holds
candidate seminars and a voter data seminars to help you understand your responsibilities and resources for the Nov. 8, 2016, consolidated presidential and municipal election. It is highly recommended that candidates attend.
