Posted on August 12, 2016 at 5:35 pm by Clay Curtin

The Police Department joined the White House’s Police Data Initiative, which launched in May 2015 and includes leading law enforcement agencies, technologists and researchers committed to improving the relationship between citizens and police. Menlo Park Police Department fulfilled its transparency commitment to this cause in releasing its first data set on the City’s open data portal.

The recently published data sets include 2015 traffic stops with dispositions, 2015 calls for service and the police department’s demographics, which include sex, race and education of all members in the department. The department looks forward to releasing more data sets in the future and encourages the public to make suggestions for more data sets.
