A WARN notice has been filed with the State of California’s
Employment Development Department for the OfficeMax Customer Fulfillment Center located at 1315 O’Brien Drive. Following OfficeMax Incorporated’s merger with OfficeDepot, Inc., the potential closure was anticipated as part of the company’s expected supply chain network consolidation. Approximately 74 workers at the property face possible termination between November 21st and December 4th, according to the notice. The notice was made under the federal
Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires employers to give workers 60 days’ notice of an employment loss affecting 50 or more employees.
