Tuesday, May 24, the City Council will consider a design for additional downtown street seating. The Santa Cruz Street Café program would enter into its second phase, whereby six additional locations would be constructed. Merchants that have applied to collaborate with the City include Left Bank, Harvest, Bistro Vida, Galata Bistro, Mademoiselle Colette, Angelo Mio and LB Steak. Expanding the Santa Cruz Street Café Program is one of the approved City Council's goals for this year. Participating merchants would enter into 3-year agreements with the City that allow them exclusive use of the areas in exchange for sharing a portion of the construction cost, compliance with permitting and maintenance the street café locations.
