The Police Department is excited to welcome two interns from Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School in San Jose. Hector Hernandez and Angelica Camarena are sophomores who enrolled in the
Corporate Work Study Program at Cristo Rey. The program affords students the opportunity to take a full load of college preparatory coursework as they work one day each week to fund the majority of their tuition. Students are not on the payroll of the employing organization; rather they are employees of the school’s separately incorporated CWSP program. Students perform a range of work from administrative tasks to research.
Hector and Angelica will be working in the police department for two months learning the processes, assisting with administrative work, and conducting research on various projects to include enhancing the department’s social media platforms. This workplace exposure will help them continue to build their professional job skills, work ethic and gain valuable local government experience and knowledge.
