The
Police Department recently selected Luis Rios as the City’s newest
downtown parking enforcement officer and he will be joining parking Officer Sharma to enforce parking regulations in the plazas and on-street parking. Luis replaces parking officer Tom Dayharsh who retired in June 2015. Luis previously worked for the City as a part-time overnight parking officer.
The City began a six-month pilot program this week to modify the downtown free parking time limits for both the public parking plazas and on-street parking spaces.
These changes include:
- Downtown public parking plazas will extend from two hours to three hours.
- Plaza 4 (near University Drive/Menlo Avenue) will remain two hours.
- Downtown on-street parking spaces will extend from one hour to 90 minutes.
Updates to the existing signs detail these changes. For more information, including a parking map and frequently asked questions, please visit the
Downtown Parking project page.
