The City is excited to announce that as of Dec. 4, the City’s four solar installations at the Arrillaga Gymnastics Center, Arrillaga Gymnasium, City Corporation Yard, and Onetta Harris Community Center are in full operation and are now producing renewable energy.
The solar installations will:
- Offset approximately 80% of our current PG&E energy use at these facilities,
- Save the City over $461,000 in energy costs over the course of the 20-year power purchase agreements, and
- Reduce 419 tons of greenhouse gas emissions from municipal operations.
In addition, the City will be receiving over $71,000 worth of energy rebates from PG&E’s California Solar Incentive rebate program. The greenhouse gas emissions saved from the clean energy produced is equivalent to removing approximately 80 vehicles from the road annually.
