On September 8, 2014, the Planning Commission conducted an interim review of Off the Grid, the weekly Wednesday-night food truck market at the Menlo Park Caltrain station. This 6-month check-in was required by the Planning Commission as part of the January 13, 2014, use permit approval. As part of the interim review, the Planning Commission received a number of support postcards and emails, and considered public comment from two individuals at the meeting (one in support, one in opposition). No action was required at this check-in, but the individual Commissioners generally expressed support for the market and appreciation for it bringing a new type of food/social option to town. Assuming the applicant wishes to continue operations past next February (when the one-year term limit would expire), the Planning Commission would next consider a use permit extension request in December or January.
